Paul Taylor / Principal
Paul was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 1999. He brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of highly contentious litigation, which invariably result in costs issues. He is a Law Society of NSW accredited specialist in the area of advocacy and commercial litigation.
Charles Ackroyd / Principal
Charles began his costs career as a Law Cost Draftsman and Cost Consultant in London in 1991 where he gained extensive experience in all levels of general litigation and costs disputes. Upon moving to Australia in 2000 Charles worked for a number of high profile Law firms in house as a Costs Consultant and subsequently established his own Consultancy Firm. Charles brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team at Pattison Hardman having specialized in the field of Costs Consultancy for in excess of 25 years and having managed teams of costers.
Kelly El Hitti / Office Manager
Kelly is the Pattison Hardman Office Manager and has worked at Pattison Hardman since January 2016. Prior to this she worked as a legal assistant at a number of firms, including with Paul Taylor, where she developed strong management, finance and organisational skills.
Suzanne Ward / Consultant
Suzanne is a leading Australian Legal Costs Consultant and distinguished lawyer with over 16 years’ experience. During this time, Suzanne has refined her skills in resolving costing disputes in all forms of litigation for both national and international legal firms. Suzanne has also been accepted and judicially quoted as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and Federal Court of Australia. Suzanne is often called upon to cost large complex matters, supply expert legal reports, conduct conciliation conferences and to act as an advocate in legal taxation hearings in high value commercial litigations for multinational clients.
Anna Cox / Consultant
Anna was first admitted to practice in 1987 and has a Masters in Business Law from the University of Sydney. She has extensive experience in many areas of litigation, and has also worked as a costs consultant since 2002. From July 2014 to May 2018 Anna ran her own practice, which included advising and assisting other practitioners, and her own clients, in legal costs matters.
Katie Cerexhe / Consultant
Experience in costs consulting is essential to get effective results and Katie is one of the most experienced practitioners in the industry. Katie has worked in the costing industry with Pattison Hardman since 1989. She has personally handled in excess of 1,200 matters, drawing Bills of Costs, Notices of Objection, Responses, Submissions, Replies, Advices and Review Applications in all federal jurisdictions including the Privy Council, all NSW jurisdictions, other Australian states and for international clients. As a result, Katie has developed a distinguished reputation as a leading and highly regarded New South Wales Costs Consultant and formidable objector.
Joanne Whelan / Consultant
Joanne has a degree in law with eighteen years of litigation and legal costing experience in both urban and regional areas. Joanne has worked with Pattison Hardman since 2009 and has been involved in all aspects of legal costing including drawing Bills of Costs, Notices of Objection, Responses, Submissions, Replies, Advices and Review Applications in all NSW jurisdictions, Western Australia, Victoria and Queensland and in Federal jurisdictions including the High Court of Australia.
Suzanne Krieke / Consultant
Suzanne Krieke joined Pattison Hardman with an already established record as a Costs Consultant. Prior to joining Pattison Hardman she worked for many years as a Costs Consultant with another costs consultancy firm developing into a leading consultant.
David Swain / Consultant
David was admitted as a solicitor of the NSW Supreme Court in 1983 and the High Court of Australia in 1988. He has extensive experience in both private and public legal practice as a litigation and trial lawyer, corporate manager and costs lawyer. After working for the Commonwealth Bank and in private legal practice for a number of years, David worked as a senior lawyer, corporate manager, investigator and policy advisor for a number of NSW Government agencies for over 30 years. He worked for the Attorney General’s Department, Local Courts Administration, Legal Aid Commission, NSW Health Department, Health Care Complaints Commission and Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Stephanie Hill / Consultant
Stephanie was first admitted to practice in 1999 and has a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wollongong. She has extensive experience in civil litigation, Court process and procedure having worked as Assistant Registrar of the Equal Opportunity Tribunal of New South Wales, Assistant Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, as a Solicitor and as a Costs Consultant 2001-2014.
Trisha Afaras / Consultant
Trisha Afaras graduated from the University of Sydney in 1990 with Bachelor degrees in both Arts and Law. In 1996 she also received a Masters of Law from the University of Sydney.
